At Waddington Street Centre we believe that learning new things is fun and good for wellbeing. We offer an extensive programme in partnership with New College Durham. Our daily 2 hour courses are designed to appeal to any level of learner. The subjects on offer cover a wide range of topics and skills and are all delivered by staff who are experienced in mental health.

After a period of illness it can be difficult to have confidence, motivation and concentration. All of our learning based activities can be accessed on a basis that suits the individual’s needs. Doing a little bit is better than doing nothing.

Our courses don’t lead to qualifications so there is no pressure to pass exams or complete course work. We simply want you to come along and enjoy yourself. Joining classes is a great way to make friends too. Meeting like-minded people in a supportive environment is a great way to form friendships and to give you structure and purpose in your week.

All of our courses are free to join but we may need to ask about the benefits you receive and you will need to complete and enrolment form.

Staff are always on hand to help as we want to make it as easy as possible for people to get involved!
